Allpicts.in – The Grande Dixence Dam is the world’s highest gravity dam, it is located on the Dixence at the head of the Val d’Hérémence in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. This dam collects melting water from 35 Valaisian glaciers in the region surrounding Zermatt. It is 935 feet (285 meters) high and 2,280 feet (695 meters) wide.
