Holi starts on the evening of the Purnima (Full Moon day) falling in the Vikram Samvat Hindu Calendar month of Phalguna. The first evening is known as Holika Dahan or Chhoti Holi and the following day as Holi. For 2019, the Purnima date is on Wednesday, March 20 and the Holi date is on March 21st, 2019.
