Lake Biwa is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Japan. This lake is located in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. Other names of this lake are the Awaumi (freshwater sea) and the Chikatsu Awaumi (freshwater lake near the capital). The lake is also called Nio no Umi or Little Grebe Lake. Moreover, Lake Biwa is classified as one of the world’s few ‘ancient’ lakes. Lake Biwa was designated a quasi-national park in 1950. The entire Lake Biwa region was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1971. People use this lake for recreation, especially sport fishing and boating.

Autumn in Nasudake (Mount Nasu) Japan

Thanks to the photographer of Takashi Aoyama for the original picture. Nasudake or Mount Nasu is a group of complex volcanoes in Japan. Nasudake is a volcano, and the peak is a pile of rocks. The highest peak is Sanbonyari Peak a height of 1,916.9 m (6,289 ft). Mount Nasu is one of the 100 Famous Japanese Mountains located in the northeast part of Nikko National Park. The view of Nasudake from down is priceless! The red, the green, the blue sky, and the cute gas gushing from the volcano. Nasudake is really beautiful and easy to hike. At every point, there is a spectacular view to behold.
Cherry Blossoms in Komagane Japan
This is the beautiful landscape view of cherry blossoms in Komagane Japan. Komagane is a city located at the foot of the magnificent Southern and Central Alps, which contain mountains as high as 3000 meters. By visiting Komagane, you can easily enjoy many beautiful places such as The ancient temple Kozenji, the Komagane-Kogen Skiing Ground, the Hayataro Hot Spring Village, Azalea in Mamizuka Park and the Village of Peach Flower in Nakazawa District. The best moment to visit this place is in mid-to-late April when the cherry and approximately 150 kinds of alpine plants are blooming in full glory.
In Japan, cherry blossoms are an important symbol of the spring season. One of the best places to visit during the blossoming season is the Kozenji temple. This big temple in Komagane city is well-known throughout Southern Nagano for its many beautiful designs and its peaceful, forested landscape. Plentiful snow still remains up at these altitudes during spring. So, this temple is one of the best spots during cherry blossom season.
Fields of Pink Moss Flowers at Mount Fuji

The pink moss flowers are known as Shibazakura, which usually looks best around the first three weeks of May. This Mount Fuji view was taken from Lake Motosuko, the westernmost of the Fuji Five Lakes. The best moment to visit this place is at the Fuji Shibazakura Festival. This festival is held between mid-April to early June. Fuji Shibazakura Festival is one of the best and most popular occasions nationwide to see Shibazakura (pink moss or phlox moss in English). There are about 800,000 stalks of Shibazakura of five varieties which produce delightful fields of pink, white, and purple colors in different hues.
Akame Shijuhachi Waterfall Japan Nature HD Image

Akame Shijuhachi Waterfall is one of the most favorite places if you would like to get a breath of fresh air outside of the big city in Japan. The waterfall was great and people call it Akame 48 Waterfalls, a series of waterfalls, both graceful and spectacular. The area was chosen as one of the best 100 forests in Japan and one of the best 100 waterfalls in the country. The Akame 48 waterfalls are the habitats of the salamander, which is a special and protected species. The name Akame – the Red eyes – was derived from a mythical folk tale about a legendary man named En no Ozunu, who while meditating in front of the waterfalls.

I love to share several nature images HD of beautiful places in Japan. This is one of them, the Ryuzu Waterfall Japan. Ryuzu Fall is located near Nikkō in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. This waterfall is upstream from the Yugawa River which makes its way into Lake Yunoko and Lake Chuzenji. Ryuzu waterfall also known as Dragon’s Head resembled by waterfall’s character. The Ryuzu Fall is split into two cascades because of a big rock in the middle and is thus said as a dragon’s head. Ryuzu Falls flow for 210 meters over rocks from the lava flow when Mountain Nantai erupted.
How to get Ryuzu Waterfall
From Tokyo, head to JR Nikko Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen and the JR Nikko Line. Take the Tobu bus from there. It took about 60 minutes to get to the nearest bus stop. Get off at “Ryuzu no Taki” and walk for about 15 minutes to reach the bottom of the waterfall. Get off at “Takinoue” and walk for about 4 minutes to reach the top of the waterfall. Going up or down a waterfall is a different experience, so choose which experience you prefer.

This is a gorgeous picture of Kagami Ike Pond in Japan. Basically, the name of this place is Kagami-Ike or Mirror Pond. It’s a beautiful reflection of Mount Togakushi in Nagano prefecture, Japan. With no wind blowing, the surface of the pond is calm with no ripples and it is just as beautiful as if it were a real mirror. You will get a different view of this place in each season. In the first week of December, you can notice that the pond has already begun to freeze over. While the winter season looks beautiful, the best season to be at Kagami Ike is in autumn when the leaves turn all shades of red and orange. In the morning, the pond looks awesome with any fog on the pond.

Tsugaike is a national park located at 1,900m in the Central Mountains National Park (Chubu Sangaku Kokuritsu Koen). It is known as the Tsugaike Shizen-en in Japanese. This national park is one of the most famous sphagnum moss sedimentary layers. Which built up over thousands to tens of thousands of years. You can enjoy several beautiful views such as Flowering Asian Skunk Cabbage (Mizubasho) blooming with the thaw in mid-June/early July. In July- August there are hundreds of alpine flora, such as Eriophorum Vaginatum (tussock cottongrass) and Nikko day lily which will be in bloom.
The area encompasses more than 100 hectares of wilderness that are made accessible by almost 6 kilometers of walking trails. It is maybe popular for the magnificence of its seasonal extremes. There are fantastic amounts of snow in winter. A lot of alpine flowers add splashes of color to the lush green landscape in spring and summer. While the eruption of vibrant red, orange, and yellow hues paint the mountainside upon the appearance of fall.

Yukawa River is one of the most beautiful places in Japan, this river is part of Ryuzu waterfall. It’s an area where can enjoy comfortable beautiful nature, the climate is like many other parts of northern Japan, with cold winters and snowfall averaging 2 meters. You will get different views of this place in different seasons. In the spring season, there is a lot of spring flower in purple color. While in the fall season, you will see an autumn environment there.

Kamikōchi in Japan means the upper highlands. It is a remote mountainous highland valley within the Hida Mountains range. Located in the western region of Nagano Prefecture, Japan. The other name of this place is the “Northern Alps” of the Japanese Alps. Kamikochi is located on a wonderful Rural Japan route ranging from Matsumoto to Takayama City. If you are looking to get away from the city and explore the road less traveled, Kamikochi and its surrounding areas have much to visit.
Kamikōchi is bordered on its northern end by Mount Hotaka, and on its southern end by Mount Yake. The mountains and valleys were shaped in part by glacial activity, proof of which can still be seen in some of the most prominent peaks. This valley looks beautiful with many features such as Takezawa Marsh, Tashiro Pond, and Myojin Pond. The water temperature is cold, even in the height of summer. Other features include two camping areas, a number of hotels with Western-style or traditional style, a tourist information center, souvenir shops, and a post office.
Today, Kamikochi is famous to international visitors as well as to the Japanese. Every autumn, a number of shrine festivals called “Ofune Matsuri” are held across the Azumino zone to give appreciation for the crop. People celebrate with boat-shaped floats parade to commemorate the Azumi tribe, a seafaring people who fished for a living. The most famous one is held at Hotaka Shrine in Azumino City (Sep. 26 – 27). At Myojin, the Zen-like pond and shrine form the backdrop for an amazing annual festival where real boats are still operated.
